Daydream running on the N900

A port of our Assembly 2008 demo for the new Nokia N900 is now available.

UPDATE 07.02.2010: I’ve added a repository for our releases. You can manually install the package or install directly to your N900.

Assembly 2009

We released our first accelerated PC demo on the Assembly 2009 demo competition and placed 5th! Next time we might even use some textures.. We were also working on a Windows Mobile demo but it was unfortunately not released because it was so badly unfinished. Download Times Square for Windows or the soundtrack made by Leaphion!

HD captures of our two text mode demos have been added to YouTube. The sync is not perfect so it is recommended to download and run the binaries instead.

Breakpoint 2009 - Carbon Dioxide

We got our TMDC demo in a releasable state and decided to submit it to the PC demo competition at Breakpoint. Download executable version.

After a bunch of software rendering mobile demos and text mode demos we feel it is time to move on. There will be some more modern stuff coming out later this year..

The whole site is now integrated in the WordPress -system. Why have two sites to maintain when everything can be done nicely in one?:)

Only the Demos -page has been added, others will be shortly.

New theme and other updates

Hey,

it has been a while.. We finally managed to get the new theme online. So far we’ve just had the default WordPress theme in use. Plokk designed the logo and colors and I did the layout and the theme.

We were supposed to make a demo for TMDC but again didn’t get it finished in time. I really hope I can get it done soon. In the mean time I’m planning writing some stuff about my text mode rasterizer and also something about 16bit dithering we used in Daydream. It is a very simple method but makes a big difference in visual quality.

Daydream final released

The final version is here at last! There are now versions for GP2X, Windows, Mac OS X Intel and x86 Linux and more ports will be available later. New features include window resizing, smaller package, fixed graphics and fixed bugs.

Assembly 2008 - Hedelmae placed second!

Assembly is over and Hedelmae placed second beating Dekadence and Byterapers among others :) The chosen platform for the demo was again the GP2X. We have a nice amount of base code done for it so all we needed to do was concentrate on doing the actual demo. The compo version is now available and a fixed version will be released later. The bugs are more apparent in the GP2X version, the biggest problem being the 3D objects doing sudden rotations. The final version will replace the following zips when it comes out. Also a video version should be out soon.

Assembly was again a nice event despite the rainy weather. Huge thanks to the organizers for making things happen! The only down side for me was the demo competition. Only a handful of demos and none were really that good. We hope next year will be a better year and we also plan to get our first PC demo done for Assembly as well!

Assembly 2008 demo finished

Yay! The demo has been finished and recorded for viewing in the competition. A few glitches have to be fixed before submitting the final version. Unfortunately some of the bugs are quite visible in the recording but overall I’m very happy how the demo turned out. Now I need to get some rest since I haven’t slept much lately :)

Assembly 2008 democrunch - Day II

We’ve been making huge progress during these few days. A few parts have been already completed and I’m quite happy how they turned out. The demo will be a bit different than we’ve usually done but it will still have the special Hedelmae touch ;)
